DL-5M / DD-5M is a microprocessor controlled, high-capacity lowspeed centrifuge designed for use in regulated environments (such as those found in blood banking, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical arenas). The control panel, designed to be easy to use and easy to clean, allows simple input through a positive feedback keypad with visual verification of set parameters and current run conditions. The control panel also prompts users for correct entry and displays user messages. The control panel introduces automaton of quality control runs.

 

   DL-5M / DD-5M operates at speeds *up to 5000rpm, and is capable of producing relative centrifugal force up to 4620g ,It uses a balanced , high-torque brushless motor designed to deliver optimal performance with smooth , quiet operation over its full speed range, with long bearing life .Advanced capabilities of this motor offer precise control of acceleration and deceleration, regardless of rotor load, for exceptional run reproducibility , Directly connected to the motor is a heavy-duty gyro-action drive with the spindle that accepts the  high-capacity swinging bucket rotor.

 

DL-5M / DD-5M has the following safety features: a protective armor plate steel guard  within the cabinet; automatic shutoff of the drive motor for overspeed protection; circuit breakers on the main power and the control panel circuits.

Why does ice form in the bowl of my refrigerated centrifuge?

If the centrifuge lid is left open while the refrigeration system is on, the condensation in the air will start to form an ice build up within the centrifuge bowl. During the period that the centrifuge is required to be at a set temperature, leave the centrifuge on and the lid closed. At the end of the day when you no longer require the centrifuge at the set temperature, open the lid and switch the centrifuge off. Leaving the lid open whilst switched off will allow any condensation build up to evaporate.

How can I safely clean my centrifuge buckets?

Centrifuge buckets are typically made of aluminium, while this material is very light it is also suseptable to corrosion. A typical laboratory cleaner is either a strong alkali or acid to ensure effective decontamination. Prolonged use of alkalis or acids on aluminium surfaces can cause corrosion. This is why it is advisable to use a ph neutral product when cleaning centrifuge buckets, rinsing with clean water and allowing to dry. Never use any implement to scratch away contaminants or soak buckets for more than ten minutes.

Do I have to use all the buckets?

All the buckets should be used on a rotor, for example a four place rotor should be used with all four buckets. However should you wish to spin less than the full compliment of adapters for example one tube, as long as a balance tube is used in the opposite bucket this will be perfectly safe.
